Hey I think this is a new great opportunity to start a fundraiser for "Hurricane Dorian".
It can really help out the people who need it after it occurs.

I don't understand why it takes an MC-M charity event for people to donate for a good cause. I assume people just want things like the name color things or a badge to feel special
Reason why I said is first Etika offered to do a random giveaway I won and I asked to donate to a charity and a good one is for donating it to the people who really need it after this disaster occurs I have many friends who live in florida that can be losing there homes ect. Yes there is many people who will just be doing it for the name color but that isnt everyone

I feel like if we are making any urgent charity events it should be for the rain forests. First responders can’t help the rain forest rather they can help hurricane Dorian. (Not that either don’t need it ofc)

I don't see why we should encourage donating to region specific campaigns if we're not also doing it for others simultaneously though. You're referencing Hurricane Dorian because it likely gets some of the most publicity in your region. Truly if we did fundraiser events for all the disasters which strike the world, not many people would end up actually donating the second or third time around. Better to just donate it to a good cause in general.

Besides all that, I truly believe disasters happen because of economics in many cases. The government reimbursing people making it sustainable to live in high-risk regions, planners designating lower cost land, and more. In previous disasters, many people actually ended up moving when they couldn't get assistance. It would be wise to consider what funds go to to resolve a case instead of the entire situation vaguely. When FEMA gave out those trailers, they went all around the country - where storms are less likely. (Lets not get into how they had formaldehyde)

I and many others in the panhandle of Florida were directly affected by Hurricane Michael and lost family members, houses, everything that we owned, and no fundraiser was created for us, much less national coverage. We had no power for a month, internet for months, running water for weeks, working plumbing for weeks, etc... Not sure why we're going to create a fundraiser for a specific storm just because it has gained more media coverage. Michael struck the panhandle as a Cat 5 and completely leveled Mexico Beach and Tyndal Air Force base. I agree with the optimism of helping others, but disagree with creating a specific charity. Donate to organizations that directly help those affected by the storms, such as fundraisers for people volunteering or even the line men who work to restore power.

Although I agree we should help out the rain forest as well, we shouldn't single out groups of people or incidents. Lives are at stake both ways, and you don't know how someone may feel during the upcoming hurricane. Again, this isn't to say we shouldn't help out the rain forest or donate to fundraisers for it, as it in terms of morals, is equally as important. One way you can help plant trees is through Ecosia, more information can be found by going to their website, which I, unfortunately, cannot send here.

People generally want to support their own community. If you're being 100% honest with yourself, would you rather spend resources on your own local town/community or a barely-known village in a third world country. As far as I know, MCM is already doing well in supporting their own community (in this case the internet and I guess just recently gamers with disabilities), as this is a gaming site.[DOUBLEPOST=1567526361][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree. A great thing that I have recently noticed are small businesses helping out the cause. For example, they would pay to plant a tree with every purchase made.

Definitely, but it's always good to be careful what business you're donating to. For example, I trust Ecosia because they're very transparent about where their funds are going. 4Ocean on the other hand, although is helping a great cause, is less transparent and miswords/exaggerates a lot of what they are doing/have achieved.

I disagree. We can't have a shit load of fundraisers. This will just make people want to donate less and less since there are so many.

No offence but if we a fundraiser for one event people will be wanting Mc-Market to do with other events until we have a fundraiser every day of the year and after a while nobody will be wanting to donate to charity.
