Over the last few months new members have been "joining the site" probaly alts from main accounts then buying 1 or 2 of my resources then after a few days they chargeback, When I check their profile its blank not a single message/reaction the only reason they made that account was to chargeback "This could be an alt account so their main dosnt get banned"

Suggestions:

• Stop them buying items untill accounts 1 month old (Like giving REP)

• Make it so they need to request permission from the seller to buy it.

• Auto ban the account + paypal email from the site when they chargeback.

If their is any other suggestions that could help that ive not mentions let me know.

Agreed. I've had a lot of these cases. Worst part is, they keep access to the resource even after the chargeback and scam reports take forever/never get replied to.

Tell me about it, after a while it gets frustrating :/

I see where you're coming from, but this would stifle sales by a significant amount, and therefore it should be toggle-able for the seller at the very least.
Except for the autoban on chargeback, which is similar to how MCM does it with their rank accounts.
Main problem there is the conflict over a non-worthwhile resource. I know they're all approved by Justis but it's still possible that there might be a problem that actually validates a chargeback. It would require the autoban to be a function that can be manually turned off by scam resolvers and full mods.[DOUBLEPOST=1523129429][/DOUBLEPOST]no? you don't want sellers to be able to decide if they want clients or not?

I look forward to us implementing buyer variables for who the author wants to be able to buy their resource. Such as registration age, post count, reaction count, reputation, resource purchase count, etc.
Also offering the authors the ability to allow people to request access to the resource, which the author can manually approve.

Combining these two things would resolve all of the complaints you've mentioned, I believe.

I haven't ran into this issue too often, at least not in the past few weeks, but I do agree that banning automaticlly if they changeback would be a huge plus as I don't think I've even gone out of my way to make a scam report apart from maybe once. As far as restictions, I am quite fond of spigot's policy that lets people just create an account and buy resources without spending time on the forums as most of my buyers these days are from spigot; making an account just to buy a resource is already a prossess that people are too lazy to do. If this does get added, I'm not too likely going to use it apart from the automatic banning/chargeback protection.

I do want to ask, where were you going with "Make it so they need to request permission from the seller to buy it"? Would they need to request to load the resource page, to buy the resource, or something else? I don't see the point in this if it's going to scare away a buyer or delay the buying prossess for the buyer, making buying the resource they originally wanted much harder to get or buy.

The only problem I have with automatically banning people for chargebacks is that I have seen authors willingly encourage members to chargeback on their resource, instead of going to PayPal themselves and offering a refund.
Knowing people, the process of automatically banning upon chargeback of a resource is something that's going to slip people's awareness. There is only so much information we can absolutely force into people's minds when they join our site, and I can see this easily becoming a new and endless leak for false bans, and potentially even abuse.

So make an automatic message that says "USERNAME has chargedback a payment on the RESOURCE" so that I dont have to manually find out who chargedback, then you could go ahead and add an escalate/report button on that message so that I can make a staff member aware faster without all the hassle of making scam reports over $1 thats not going to get refunded anyways.

Yes because when I wanted to buy a SkyWars map and I made an account it would be totally fair if I had to wait more to get my request accepted so I could finally buy it. And also I think the moderators have better things to do than just clicking yes a bunch of times for stupid requests. But hey that's my opinion.

I strongly disagree with the idea of banning new members from purchasing resources; or even bothering about chargebacks. I have quite a lot of resources here on mc-market, and from my experience and talking with clients, most of them are new on mc-market. Don't bother about leaks. Work on expanding.

Issue with banning them from purchasing is your money wouldn't end up to you in the first place. You can't completely fix the issue and thus, this will obviously end to less sales for you.

If you want to get rid of leaked users, provide a support leaked users can't even dream of. That's how you get purchases with more downloads on leaked sites than on here.

This was implemented in our previous resource update!

Thanks for the great suggestion TBK, I'll move this to accepted.
