Hey, this is a post looking for help on a new server called Tainted Isles. We have been in development for about a month, and we have got a good deal of progress done. Given the current situation that we find ourselves in with COVID-19, I think this would be a perfect time to put all our creative minds together with the time we have and create the next Minecraft MMORPG. If you think you could help in any way, please join this discord (https://discord.gg/GGtZ4w5) I am a plugin developer, but as you may know there are many more positions needing to be filled. Tainted Isles needs builders, game designers, more developers, staff, 3D modellers, world designers and lore writers. If you want to lend any sort of helping hand, please consider this project, as with the time we have (with the right amount of dedication), we should be able to create something special in a short period of time. THE IDEAS FOR TAINTED ISLES:
In the game, there will be 3 factions to choose from. Each faction will start on different Isles, and they will work their way through that part of the map till they are strong enough to travel across the sea to the Central Isle (unnamed atm). This is where Tainted Isles differs from other Minecraft MMORPGs. It is heavily PvP focused. The centre of the map will be where all the best loot is, and all the higher tiered mobs - but the whole place is a Warzone (pvp enabled). Players from their respective faction will have to stick together to stay safe, as there will be dangers at every corner. There will be a sort of raid system implemented, but the design of that still needs some work.
Another change to the normal Minecraft MMORPG that we have made is that there are no levels. The game is gear based in progression, with a feature called Enhancements to go along with it. We want combat to run smoothly and easily, and spells are too hard to balance and too clunky for Minecraft in our opinion, so we have decided to use this feature. Enhancements are permanent passive stat upgrades, gained by killing a certain amount of players, mobs, completing certain instanced dungeons, levelling up in a certain profession, etc. This will reward players who put a lot of time into the server, so even if drop chances aren't on their side, they will be rewarded with these permanent stat upgrades. These enhancements differ from faction to faction, so certain factions will be stronger in certain areas.
For now, this is all we are going to reveal, just to give you a taste of what we are aiming towards. There will be classic features like guilds, quests, dungeons, professions, parties etc. but we are going to put our own spin on the genre.
