So, I am somewhat of a new server owner. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for me, I have a discord, setup, staff, management (paid) custom builds, (I think) unique ideas. I don't know much about the stuff other than a bit of staff stuff and configuration.

I do a bit yes.

Start off small. Don't release with tons of gamemodes. Release with only 1-2 gamemodes. And for gamemodes, do not release games that require multiplayer, release a game that you can both play solo and online. For example, releasing with a Survival or SkyBlock server would be great (I recommend survival)

I would say, Conquer 1 gamemode (Skyblock & Survival are 2 of the best to start off) try and get a steady playerbase on there with loyal, active players. From that if you want I would suggest expanding your reach into something like Prison, Factions, or anything which can be played on their own or with a group of friends.

Just make sure whatever you add in is something that players want, can make playing a lot better or helps staff manage the server a lot easier. Remember its not all about being flashy and giving the players 17 different things to do when they start out, simplicity can be a good way to maintain players with external achievements that can be reached, Don't force features down a players throat. Add in what the community wants, try and always talk to them and they will appreciate that which can help them bond with the server.

But always remember, owning a server that you want to grow will be hard work, make sure your dedicated to it. After its stable with staff and players you can take a step back and let the server run itself for a short while.
