NEW PC (Weird Smell)

Built my new PC yesterday, cable management is a bit rough but I'll fix it up soon, there's a weird smell coming out of the PC, it smells like some sort of chemical and plastic smell. I checked online and it said it was normal and should go in a couple days, wanted to make sure this is correct, does anyone know of any stress tests for the GPU and CPU so I can monitor the temperatures so everything's working correctly? All the fans are spinning including the 1660ti's, hopefully it's just a fresh pc smell and hot the PSU dying.

but same thing was with mine, for me since I had my window wide open and it was windy the smell went in a day or 2. so ya itll go eventually

Ah thanks for the answers, first build a bit rough but all the parts work fine [DOUBLEPOST=1556448855][/DOUBLEPOST]Also ended up moving the fan from the bottom to the top of the case to act as an exhaust.

It may be the plastic if you forgot to take it off the bottom of your cpu cooler. If you're sure you removed that, double check for plastic on your gpu or other components. I definitely remember my computer smelling a bit for the first half a week to a week.

Never had a computer have a weird smell and I've build hundreds (including servers).

This is a very good point and one you should look at. There's usually a thin layer of plastic film on the cooler where the CPU and cooler make contact. Maybe you (or whoever made the PC) neglected this.

It isn't plastic, I think it's coming from the GPU (not entirely sure) when I did a GPU stress test the smell got 10x worse.

The smells gone down after leaving the windows open and doing that stress test. I'll use it for another day and see on Tuesday. When I made this thread I didn't have 1 hour of time on the PC.

I do think you should still check your warranty incase everything messes up tbh
