Hello everyone!
Currently my processor is too good, Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3220 @ 3.00GHz.
But I been thinking about getting rid of that one... for good.

Any suggestions what processor can I buy with 200 - 250$ budget?

My pc specs:

Processor
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3220 @ 3.00GHz

Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

RAM
10 GB

Operating System
Windows 10

Any questions or advice, let me know!

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Currently just upgrade my processor, my video card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 which is decent and I got 10 GB Ram which is also decent, correct me if otherwise?

The issue is your motherboard is already pretty old, it won't support many of the newer processors out there. If you're only looking to upgrade your processor, then you shouldn't spend more than $50-100 imo. You'd be better saving up and building a new PC in a couple of months.

If you decide to do a major upgrade, you'll also need to change your RAM from DDR3 to DDR4, so $250 isn't going to get you very far.

I have right now 100$ (will get paid in some stuff and will have over 200$ budget soon)
from your saying 50 - 100$ can be enough, what should I get using my 100$?

What motherboard and CPU cooler do you have? That will dictate what processor you can get.

stupid of me, I don't understand much at this stuff (I assume you all already know that, otherwise I wouldn't open this thread)

how do I check ?
Where did you get your PC from? Is it a pre-built from a major brand like Dell/HP, a pre-built from a system integrator like iBuyPower, CyberPowerPC, etc. or is it custom?

It's probably easiest if you just pop open the case and take a picture of the motherboard/cooler combo.

Or you could follow this guide: https://techguided.com/what-motherboard-do-i-have/

Would you like to talk in discord so you can explain this better to me?

If looking at your CPU technically the socket on your motherboard "should" hold a http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket_1150_LGA1150_H3.html any CPUS on this site if your looking for one for 50-100$ you might be able to find a used i5 4560/4590 online on newegg, BUT I would highly recommend and agree with everyone that you should just build a new PC later down the road as your PC is a bit out of date. Odd parts combo, but at that stage it's just useless to upgrade from that, just save up for a couple months and get a low-mid end ryzen system, it'll be amazing for upgradeability and will give you a really good base to start with for about $450. If you want the exact parts, lmk.
