New Rep system

As we all know the system is completely screwed. It allows for freedom of speech but to the extent where it allows false reputation to be given. Mick had suggested to possibly take out numbers. I personally thought that was a good idea.

Have a system where the first 5 times you give a negative reputation it has to be approved by someone with permission.

Pro - Reps would be more accurate and fake negative reps would be denied
Con - Could require a lot of time for staff to go through

Or an overall reputation counter maybe. E.g. You have 10 +rep and 1 -rep (Your overall rep would be +9) and that number would be displayed.
I think it would work far better, and I have seen it many times.

What if a user with 50 rep starts exit scamming? The negative reps would bump it down to like 40, and the guy would still look legit

I'm using this more as a discussion thread. Also I rote this at 1am and I had a headache so didn't put much thought into it lol

No system is perfect...Just ideas, at this point with the size mc-market is at it would be impossible without community support, but then that would require management from trusted persons.

Since the implementation of policies and improvements we've made to our reputation system over the past few months, I don't think that this is as large an issue as it was when this suggestion was made.

Instead of removing numbers from rep, we've instead adjusted it so that it only displays a single number which is a nice compromise in my opinion.
