New seller, have questions

I'm looking start buying and reselling domains, but I have one question. How are people selling their domains for so cheap? It costs $15 just to buy a domain on GoDaddy yet people are starting bids at as low as $3! If anyone could explain why/how that would be great!

Some domains arent worth 15 dollars and some people can find better prices on certain websites. Namecheap sells certain .com or .net domains for 12 dollars or so.

So people buy domains and sell them cheaper than they bought them for?

Some do. They just want to get some sort of income from it. Some domains are worth 15 dollars (may seem like it is but its really not). I bought CrateKey.com and I wanna sell it now

domains on registar sites have set prices depending on their TLD, all .com domains are around $15 almost everywhere.

minecraft-servercoolissuperfun.com is not worth $15, even though the site sells it at that price

skyblock.com is worth wayyyyy more than $15, but godaddy will sell it at that price
