I do not think users should be able to 'vouch' for others if they have not bought or used their services... In my hosting thread like 10 different people vouched for me, and haven't bought or used my services... They are saying my servers are good (which they are), but they haven't tried it out for themselves... So, I think the rules should be more clearer on vouching, like as of now it says you cant ask for vouches, I think it should be people cant give you a vouch if they haven't bought or used your service in the thread... I dont think this should be punishable if people dont follow it, but I think it should enforced or stated that it shouldn't be done.

Point is - You shouldn't vouch on someones thread if you never bought any of their services in the post.

Maybe another thing will be, be descriptive about your vouch. Don't just say 'Vouch' explain a little bit more of your experience with the user if you want to tell us that hes legit. When you say just 'vouch' your not being descriptive at all. (this also goes with devouch, dont just say 'devouch this user tried to scam me' show proof of the scam report, etc. or if it was 'devouch this build is off of planetminecraft' show the link so it doesn't look like an accusation.)

For the post farmers:
This could be another thing for those 'anti post farming' people, as it would stop people from vouching on every thread they see which has been created by a well known user...

I agree with Shattered. It's hard for us staff to spot a 'fake vouch' I cannot just accuse you of not having bought anything, although, I can kindly request people use vouching as a way of letting others know 'hey I have purchased from this person before and it went well'.

A better way to implement this would be to require 'vouchers' to explain what they purchased and actually provide feedback rather than just saying vouch.

A good suggestion I think.
Another thing I see people doing is vouching for people they have previous experience or business with, and I don't think if you've done previous business with a user by buying an account or whatever has anything to do with what the guy is selling in his graphics shop... You can tell people hes a trustworthy user and wont scam you (they shouldn't if they have a high rep and isn't banned, like most of the people who are receiving random vouches) but the person vouching has no idea how good the users graphics are if they haven't purchased any for themselves, therefore they shouldn't be vouching for something they didn't buy and was happy with.

I agree with the basis of your suggestion in the original post, but I'm not sure about this. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a vouch for someone that simply says something along the lines that a smooth transaction took place. Not all vouches NEED to pertain to the service or item being sold on the thread, as other types of vouches can be valuable, such as a vouch for smooth transactions or professionalism.

A vouch can mean different things, it can be that they tested the service - but it can also be that they done something else with you (eg. bought a server) and it went good.

Maybe we could say:
1: Vouch - Tried The Service
2: Vouch - Legit User
People vouched my post just because I am a well known member, no one has done previous buisness with me or has tried out my services... This is one reason I think this should be a rule, its not 'vouch because hes well known' its 'vouch because I bought his services (stated in the post)'

Or if you've done previous business say your vouching because of that, dont say 'vouch' meaning the users graphics are good if you never ordered them.

Well when people just say 'Vouch' its not descriptive at all...
and half the time people are vouching and haven't even bought anything relating to the post.

I think people should do a small "review" rather than saying "Vouch" to get their post count up

Vouch means "this person is legit don't hesitate dealing with them" they don't want people on their post saying vouch this guy helped me sell my used condom on eBay, his favorite color is green and he likes cold waffles

If I scam someone, you're saying they can't devouch me because we didn't actually complete a transaction.
I never said you cant devouch... That isnt even what this post is about, I would like to know how much of it you read, but I wouldn't call it a scam if you didn't complete a transaction... You couldn't of been scammed if you lost nothing. Maybe 'This user attempted to scam me' and then devouch showing it. (being descriptive about it, which I will explain next)

Well when people just say 'Vouch' its not descriptive at all...
and half the time people are vouching and haven't even bought anything relating to the post.
^ This also applies with devouching, be descriptive about a devouch and link in a little story or the scam report, saying 'Devouch' inst descriptive at all.
