That's an interesting statement coming from you! :)

I don't believe that we need to completely remove the shoutbox, but I do feel that rules need to be enforced more to stop people from thinking there's no punishment for breaking the rules and stuff like that.

I enjoy the shoutbox, I go there if I have a little extra time and have nothing else to do.

This is spot on. We don't want any other low quality posts such as JKaay saying hi 22,000 times in the premium forum. In the past the shoutbox has been removed entirely and during that time there was no large increase in activity in thread creation either.

Recently MC-Market has been growing with more members active now than ever, but the amount of posts being made during this time has been falling and I'd attribute this to a lack of community interaction and updates to the site being made. Also, the fact that general discussion was moved to below the rest of the stuff would play a significant role.

What would be the point? The shoutbox is one of the main features people have paid for when upgrading their account, removing something as big as shoutbox would just create even more discord in the community.

I have disagree not only due to the shoutbox being a place bringing the community together, but also due to it being a huge source of advertisement for peoples services for all people.
This could of course lead to people normally advertising in shoutbox, switching to advertising with sticky threads and ad spots. Countering the lost revenue that Deleted User 17178 mentioned.

I do think it's a bad idea though, I love the shoutbox. (Dramabox ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )
