So, I was going to buy a server from OVH until I saw Nocix's cheap prices, other than the part about the DDoS protection not being as good is it worth going with Nocix instead? Planning on getting an i7 6700k @ 3.6-4.0 GHz or a 2x E5 2670 @ 2.6 GHz from them vs the 4790k I was going to get from OVH.

Nocix don't provide any DDoS protection at all. If you are hosting MC servers, you need good DDoS protection, or skids will keep knocking your server offline.

or non existent, this is mainly for how good it holds up, if the staff is good ect, idc about DDoS protection, I'll handle that later.

I had one for hosting MC a while back, it doesn't hold out at all. DDoS protection isn't something you can easily just deal with later. Possibly via a tunnel? but if someone already has the dedi's IP and is DDoSing that, a tunnel would have no effect. You would likely need to move to a protected dedi later on. Online booters are so cheap, and quite a few people have them, mostly kids that seem to like joining a server, and having some fun with it. I highly wouldn't recommend getting one with no protection, been there, it doesn't end well. Other than that, they are an okay host. I find the staff are decent, occasionally the network goes down. (happened to me only twice this year) but only for half an hour to two hours. Dedis are overall good for the price, and the service is decent.

Thanks, as for the protection I'm not really too worried about it, it's going to be a private server for a few things such as my build server, an SMP with some of my friends, a private cannon test server ect so nobody I don't trust will have the IP. Also going to be making my public server on it until it's finished, then I'll upgrade to a higher end server with protection. Again, thanks for the help![DOUBLEPOST=1472783679][/DOUBLEPOST]

Can you please do what I asked and leave a review about Nocix or not leave one, I didn't ask to suggest other host. Not trying to be rude but I get so many conversations and such when I post these from people asking me to buy their fucking i3's with 2Gb's of ram for $200 a month and stuff, getting annoyed.

Between OVH and Nocix I would recommend OVH. Few years back when I had a Minecraft server I rented from Datashack (rebranded as Nocix). Anyways about 1-2 times per month their entire datacenter would go down, either it was due to power loss or DDoS attack. As well I had a DDoS on one of my servers and my IP was null routed for 17 days..... The only benefit with Nocix is their support, the support they offer beats OVH (though they both are unmanaged providers).
