Recently, I've seen M6Gaming banning users which have scam reports on them, yet they haven't been on mc-market for the past 4-5 days.

I think that if they haven't came on before the scam report was published publicly, they should have time until they come on, if they do come on whilst the scam report it open, but don't respond, they have 24 hours, then a ban.

Ugh, I hate it when people try to target staff.

M6Gaming, already gives enough time to reply to scam reports. He knows what he is doing. After all you guys probably don't even know what it takes to be a scam resolver. Nor do I but, I bet its damn hard.[DOUBLEPOST=1468254944][/DOUBLEPOST]
I do agree, they should be allowed to come online, and have a little bit more than 48 hours. Maybe 1 week sounds more fair. After all, there are some that only drop by on weekends.
One week will cause a build up.

i agree. i feel that if I need to go away or a family member is in the hospital and I didn't care to go on MCM because of my irl life, i wouldnt want to be banned even though i didnt even see someone made a scam report on me or i was last on a bit before the scam report so i never saw it.

How about just dispatching an email to suspected scammer? Then give them 1 week. If they don't respond by then, tough titty, said the kitty. I can relate with not coming to this site regularly, sometimes I go weeks without giving a fuck about MCM. However, if I received an email saying "blah blah, you're suspected of scamming, blah blah"... I'd look into it.

The thing is while I agree with this since I also have a life outside of MCM if you did something that someone opens a scam report on you then you deserve a ban.
Some people are crazy... Not everyone with a report on them deserves a ban. Highly Disagree

I believe 48 hours is enough, their loss for not checking the forums whilst they're trading. Plus stop targeting staff members, it's pretty damn rude. If you have a problem about a staff member not doing their job or whatever, then report it or ask the staff member about the problem?

I agree to this suggestion since people could just post fake report on a user who wasnt online because he couldnt, then just get banned bcz he couldnt come to MCM and check the fake scam report

There's a reason we have an appeal method.

I don't just ban if they don't respond either, there's more to it then just that.

How about just dispatching an email to suspected scammer? Then give them 1 week. If they don't respond by then, tough titty, said the kitty. Why take the risk of allowing Scammers to be on this site and pulling off more last minute deals? From what I see, timing is the only restriction we hold on Scam Reports - Now you're asking to increase from 48 hours just for the sake of a response?

You can write a response through your appeal once your back from wherever and if I find it acceptable, we can re-open the case - no problem. Not wanting to pull strings, but the last person that used the excuse of being on vacation already lied through his Appeal.

Keep them the way they are and stop suggesting a potential risk to the future of these forums please.

But what if I go see a family member, for 3 days, and in those 3 days I get a scam report opened on me?
I'm banned, cause I never replied.

It's currently 48 hours, which is plenty of time, because if you take a job from someone then you are probably actively using the forum. Whoever paid you is going to be talking to you all the way, at least til the point they say "I'm reporting you for scamming me", in which case they would know to come online and respond to the scam report.

Have you seen the amount of scam reports being submitted on the forum? If we extend the waiting period to something like 7 days, Doge and M6 will have to juggle between 10-15 opened scam reports at any given time, per person. This means it's harder to keep track of what's going on in each report and extra time wasted on warming up to each report every time they revisit it because of a new comment.

If someone scammed me, which happened 2 times, I am not giving them 7 days of peace on the scam report when I've JUST gotten off a fiery hot conversation with them on Skype, am I?

Whenever someone tags me in a thread on quotes me, i get an email. If the system worked like this, i could just see whats been said, and would know whats happening, without even going on MCM. Would just have to look at my emails. 48 hours is more than enough, it would be better keeping it that way, and having the option to unban someone.

Say if i was to hire someone to make a website, then fell ill, and couldnt get on to pay. I would be banned for scamming, which would be one of the few times the system would be unfair. If i could then explain to the person, pay them (maybe more for the trouble) they could recommend an unban. Saying what had happend, then M6 decide if the person should be unbanned or not.

Just an idea, and would need some work, but thats what i think anyway.
