Notifcations for whole forums

I think we should have a feature to filter out notifications, in my case it's Investments & Loans, I watch the forum, but I'd like to not get notified if someone is offering investments, but I would like to get notified if someone is requesting an investment.

I agree, following other sections like design, development, plugins and servers it just is way to much when you watch the forum. A filter to filter out what you would like to watch is a nice idea.

For your case specifically this is where separating Investments and Loans would be more beneficial for both sides. It's hard for us loaners to find people requesting loans without having to check threads to find out they just need server/project/business investments. If you want to support that idea go here. I'm not here to promote my suggestions though, onto this one.

If there was an easy way to do this, I'd say most definitely. The problem is it's hard for a filtering system to know just what each thread is specifically. If you make it solely designed to go off of the prefix used on the thread, perhaps that could work. Though there's always the occasional user who uses the wrong one stupidly.

This would definitely be a welcome addition to the forum. Filtering based on, well, filter tags should really be something that comes standard.

A prefix is required on every thread, right?
Filter out all threads you choose.

I.e: You follow the forum, and you get a little pop-up box, you can select the prefixes to not get notified for.

I think it could be a nice idea to allow users to get notified if a thread gets created where the title contains a certain word or phrase, what are your thoughts on this? I just don't think it makes much sense to let you filter by prefix since there's very few forums where that would be relevant and some would argue that investments and loans should be separated into their own forums.

I'll unlock this for more input.

Without an existing addon to serve this purpose, I don't think that this suggestion is worth us implementing until we've handled all of our other prepared custom addons first. For the moment this isn't worth the custom development, but maybe in another 6 months this might be worth it.
