Basically to avoid impersonation scams make it mandatory to confirm on site before dealing in discord.

It must clearly state the deal and the seller must clearly state there discord. A screenshot of the discord dms would also be efficient

I know this probably won't get accepted but I recommend everyone to follow that format above for confirmation.

Staff do not need another thing to moderate. Members on here should confirm before dealing with someone. If they do not, they are risk getting scammed.

It would only need moderation if someone got scammed. This prevents the excuse of a scammer saying that it was not there discord as they have properly confirmed that they are talking to the right person.

People are told pretty often to confirm onsite. If you're not smart enough to check the profile of the person you're dealing with on MCM, and check that you're actually dealing with them, then why should they moderate your stupidity?

To add on to Capaldi's points:

People use different platforms, Discord isn't the only platform. Therefore, making this mandatory will be redundant, especially when it comes to verifying via different platforms (though admittedly it isn't usually a big problem, but it can be). Also, making this mandatory will require that staff enforce it, and that simply isn't practical.

If this isn't moderated until someone gets scammed, there is a high chance that the person who scammed will deny it is their Discord.

People need to use common sense before dealing with someone offsite. If they say they are x person on MC-Market, have x person confirm their Discord ID through their MC-Market profile. If they stall (such as saying they can't because of x or x), then wait until they confirm. If they refuse, they are likely not the person they say they are.

Another good way to see if someone is legit is to copy-paste the Discord name/discrim (example: name#0001) into the MC-Market search bar on the top right. If nothing comes up, there is a high chance that the person is an impersonator. If something comes up, you will still need to confirm their Discord ID (go to settings, appearance then enable developer mode. right click their name and copy the id) Have them do the same and message you on MC-Market with their ID.

Or you can simply copy-paste their ID into the search bar and see if anything comes up.
