You obviously don't know what the Oculus Rift is if you think Gear VR is an worthy alternative. It's two totally different approaches to VR marketed to two totally different demographics. It would be like me telling you to eat a hamburger when you really want a fine steak. People who buy a Rift are the people who want to experience AAA titles at their computer in VR, not a mobile app on their phone.
The Rift's demographic are people who most likely already have a decent gaming computer. Plus you act like an $800 computer is some rare holy grail that only the elite have. It's really not, especially to those who game and want a decent computer.
