Old DDR3 xeon server poll

I'm planning to buy 3 same xeon servers and put in the datacenter.
(Dual Xeon E5-2650L v2 [20 cores total] / 64GB DDR3 Memory)

I need these for my friends and they'll use for about 1 year but I want to rent after that..
but people will buy these...? after 2 or 3 years?

or is there any new server that can buy within $700? (max $2100 for 3 servers)

You would probably be able to sell the CPUs and RAM, but I doubt you could sell the whole thing for a good price.
You should also check if renting it instead of co-locating it would have a big difference.
Because then if something breaks, you don't have to pay for it and after you are done with the machine you wouldn't have an issue with selling it.

Renting out the server not only depends on the specs but also location, network and support.
It may be suggested a better upgraded CPU when you decide to rent them out as the E5-2650L V2 is quite lower powered and won't be as sought after by people.
