I suggest that a warning/popup of some sort if created if you are attempting to reply to a post that is say over 2 months old. I've seen it countless times especially in the giveaway sections, where people reply to posts trying to enter a giveaway that ended a month ago, or the user who created the giveaway has been banned.

A popup or a small message that asks for you to confirm if you want to reply to an old thread would be nice to help prevent people necroposting by accident.

At the moment we aren't planning to do any more development for our site until we can migrate to XF2 since we'll have to rewrite everything then. Perhaps once we move to XF2 and have fixed all the bugs that come with that and have more time for some new development we can work on this, but for the moment this isn't something that we can justify the development for.
