This one is not clean at all with people being able to write giant rainbow text. It also lags more than any other shout box we ever had. Like seriously, its like 2 seconds to say something. Its unbearable! The old one was the best shout box by far, and once again, there was nothing wrong with it.

The BBC tags are fixable..
That's not a problem with the shoutbox.
If you're lagging, try refreshing your page.
If that doesn't help, I'm sorry, but I experience no lag.

I really liked the old one. The old one was more suitable for a large community. This one, really isn't suitable for a large community.

The old one lacked many of the features that makes this new shoutbox great.
I know there are flaws with it, but let's give the staff some time to try and work it all out before saying that there was no way for us to do better than what we had before, because there certainly is, and we're striving for it.

TaigaChat is severely lacking in numerous features that Chat has and the reason that this was never known by the community was because I released the shoutbox before it was fully functional, which is completely my mistake to do out of my eagerness for change. Below is a list of features that Chat has that TaigaChat doesn't, and I hope that you will agree that the pros in this scenario outweigh the cons.

Chat by Siropu:
Pros:
- Custom made chat rooms
- Ability to change where the shoutbox is displayed (facebook-styled, above the forums, sidebar, etc)
- Top chatters list (to see who is the most active in the shoutbox)
- User tagging (which is only available in TaigaChat with an addon)
- Private whispering command
- Kick users from your chat room
- Enable/Disable bbcode buttons (bold, italic, underline, strike-through, image, quote, etc.)
- Incredibly amazing administration and moderation capabilities that allow for automatic unbans after a period, the ability to report shoutbox messages, and more.
- Built-in (and much better) support for shoutbox logs for the staff to review

Cons:
- Takes a little while to get used to
- May be slightly less user-friendly to use the settings panel (as there are more options)

Alright, ill give you that one. This is actually quite useful, but again its not worth losing a great chatterbox over.

Again the chatroom.. They are ok but.. not worth losing a great chatterbox over.

Lovely! My home page can now be spammed with giant rainbow faces in chatterbox!

Because you can't keep track of the bans and unbans of user..

I don't see how chatterbox logs can be "better". They're just logs..

I think TaigaChat is way better.

- Chat rooms are cool in theory, but what is the point of them? They don't really accomplish anything.
- Changing where the shoutbox is displayed is very buggy and not practical.
- This just encourages spam.
- User tagging is useless because you don't even get notifications for it with Siropu
- I don't understand what use whispering is. It's the same as PMing someone.
- Again, don't see the point of chat rooms.
- I don't really understand what this means, but I didn't see any problems with bbcode in TaigaChat.
- Reporting shoutbox messages is stupid. It's supposed to be a free place for people to casually have conversations. Yes, if someone is really being abusive in it, they should be dealt with, but in that case staff can deal with them manually. I can see the report button being abused easily and reports will pile up on each other and staff will never be able to get through it all.
- The better support for shoutbox logs is the only plus I can see with Siropu, but all the downsides are not worth it, imo.

It's just bulky and laggy. TaigaChat was much better, and I know it's obviously ultimately up to Mick which addon to use, but the community stated before that most of us do not like Siropu and now we're saying it again.

The new shoutbox works perfectly. The old one was extremely basic and had just about no "features". Also, this chat only just got here so there will be issues for a bit but over time, they can be fixed.

The only features we need is being able to instantly chat. Ive noticed it apparently doesn't lag so some users, but does for many. Also, did I mention that it is gigantic?

When Mick first added Siropu chat most people hated it. There were so many problems with it. Mick then reverted it and said he made a mistake by implementing it without fixing the issues it had first. Then, Mick made that thread and told us all the positives Siropu chat would bring after the issues were fixed. Even I thought it sounded better than TaigaChat, and I assumed that once all the problems with Siropu were fixed it would be a lot better.

Since it's been readded staff have fixed many of the issues. They made links clickable again and they fixed the unreadable black on black text (for some themes, not all). I am pretty sure they're still working on getting chat rooms to work, but other than that it seems the majority of small issues have been fixed. Still, Siropu chat is awful. My main issue with it is it's laggy, and I don't think that can be fixed practically. The point of a shoutbox is to be able to have instant conversations with people. If it is laggy, we can't do that, and that defeats the purpose of a shoutbox. My other issues with it are it's bulky and ugly, you can't fullscreen it without going out of your way to glitch it out, people are abusing the large text and colors, the /me spam is annoying all the time, the report button constantly showing when I move my mouse around is annoying, and people being able to report whatever they want in shoutbox at all is stupid I think.

The reason so many people voted in favor of Siropu chat is because Mick made it sound great, but truthfully the real thing is not great. Besides, I'm sure lots of those votes were from people who can't even use shoutbox, so the poll doesn't necessarily reflect the right people's opinions.

I feel like I've given this Shoutbox a fair chance. I haven't really been bashing it or insulting it publicly cause I wanted to see if I could just get used to it first.

I really feel like it's inferior to the old Shoutbox in a lot of ways. As Monty said, the worst things about it are the report feature, which will certainly be abused, and the lag. I also dislike that the "fullscreen" page is super tiny.

1. It was posted in a section that everyone including non-premiums could vote on.
2. Now that we've actually experienced it, a new poll should be made. We had no idea it would be so laggy, clunky and ugly.

Nobody is crying, we're simply stating that we hate the new shoutbox because it's laggy, clunky and ugly. We had one that worked fine before and was much better.

Same, the thread made the new shoutbox look promising, but now that I've actually used it I honestly hate it due to the previously stated reasons.
