I think there should be a section called "Online Staff" on this area of the homepage:
It basically tells you the current online staff and the owner BeBosny.
Maybe above Recent Posts, or between Recent Posts and Recent Threads wherever best fits.

Or you could just scroll down to the bottom and look for anyone with a red name ;)

There used to be a "staff online now" thing, it was bellow recent threads on the right. I would have no problem re-adding it.

But if you scroll down it shows a list of a bunch of people... Not specific staff.

I think we used to have this, I would totally love it to be added again



Yeah, but if there is a substantial amount of users online (normally 50+, which is always), it won't show all the users online.

They could argue that you don't need to know when they're online. After all, if you need help you're supposed to open a support request, not PM them

But seriously, it's true.
I come online for like, two minutes to take care of something super important, and I get private messaged by 15 different people with "can u aproov my post? its has ben 10 mins, and no approv yet".
"can u stop this player from bulling me? it is harrasement and I said leeve my thread".
"i need a middleman. Hey jorge, I added a staff member, very trusted, alright let's do this, send him the file"
Or my favorite..
"are you staff?"

There are very few circumstances where a situation is so urgent that a private message is necessary.
Most people seem to be unable to determine when that is...
But for most cases, you should probably use support requests, assuming the report button isn't an option. (Always use the report button first, if possible)

When staff members are not already busy with something else, they go to support requests, and look at what each member needs help with. If the staff member is able to help, they do.
This ensures that you get assistance as soon as it becomes available, and that you're getting help from a staff member who actually has the ability to help you, since it's open to all of us.
Not only that, but you don't come off so annoying for trying to demand our attention be directed away from the other members and to you, via PM.
Though... If you make five support requests saying your post hasn't been approved, you're still going to come off as annoying, because yes, we know, there are posts not approved yet. Would you like us to spend our time approving them, or replying to a bunch of support requests saying, "sorry wait your turn".

For me, the most annoying part about being spammed with messages like that isn't the fact itself, but simply.. I cannot help you.
I hate telling people I can't help, I'm not the right position, wait your turn, to go to support requests, no I can't middleman, I don't have time, I'm only online for five minutes.
So I wish you'd just save yourself the PM, and go here http://www.mc-market.org/support/support-request/ or use the report button if you can.
I assure you, as soon as I can help, I will respond there, and if I can't or another staff member becomes available first, they will respond.
So please, use support requests, or the report button where applicable.

If you guys can do that, if you can get some good sense, then I'd actually like having it back. :p
I remember when I was a noob, I'd occasionally look at that tab.
It made me feel better, safer and secure, knowing there was a staff member online, and I wasn't all alone with ferocious meme beasts that are our community.
I'd like to provide our members with that sense of comfort if possible.
There are always those occasional real emergencies, in which a private message is necessary, and demanding the attention of any staff member is reasonable.

But that's just me.

There are currently no open support requests without a reply.
I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience in the past.

Why do I feel like the staff target me? lol. My support requests (I've made 5+) always take weeks for a reply. My reports get rejected when it's for the same shit I get warnings for, like wat.

dozens of your reports you make get resolved without question, yet because one of them gets rejected we're targeting you?
Also, a lot of your support requests are about issues that cannot be resolved instantly. Any complex support requests tend to take a week unless the person gets lucky.
