Hello

I'm just going to say my thoughts about youtubers asking money from server owners. These questions came after browsing the forums here for a couple of months now.

First off, I do understand this website is called mcmarket for a reason. I just want to question the motivation/motives of youtubers.

Everyone knows youtubers are getting money from youtube ads. I do not dislike them for that, I encourage youtube itself for doing that. The thing that I dislike is youtubers charging money to do a series/upload on top of the revenue from the ads. Some are earning hundreds a month or even every week. What I'm wondering then is: Is money really the only reason you're doing it?

I also fail to see the point why people with a low view and subscriber amount charge for doing a series/upload. Again, the question: Are you doing youtube for anything else then money? In my opinion they should be happy with a few extra perks to make the recording on the server easier.

Last question: if you play on a server, how many new people are joining and leaving very fast again? That's most likely because something on the server was not fitting them. Iv'e seen quite a lot of youtubers here doing a series, and honestly, it was boring. They were just not enthousiastic about it, it looked like they didn't even try to get content,... I do not blame them 100% for it. But why are you recording on a server where you're not enthousiastic about?

I would like to know why people are doing youtube. Everything I see here, is that people are just trying to get as much money of it as possible.
An answer to: Why do you want to charge server owners on top of the ads from youtube? would be nice too.

Would love to get some insights from other perspectives too!

1. Youtube ad revenue is absolute shite right now. Many true professionals with channels around the 1 million are having trouble making a living with ad revenue.
you may get about $1 per 1000 views in some cases, though Im told its no longer view-based, but watch-duration based.
2. The ads can be removed on a whim if youtube decides the video is not politically correct or child friendly. This happens a lot
3. the youtubers usually have no reason to play on most server owners' servers without getting paid for it. It's called sponsorship.
4. most youtubers on here are not true pros, they're people with partially botted channels who are looking to make a quick buck. Exceptions exist.
