Opinions about new server idea

Hey everyone,
Today I got a new idea. I wanted to start a reallife server. It works like this: you start in a city and with $5000. With that you can buy plots. On a plot you can hire a build team which can build your house or shop. You can work in other shops and earn money by being online. There is a lot more to explain but it's to much. You have a GUI which is your "bank account" you trade with blocks which are worth some dollars

Not really. It's more based on reallife and it's only one 'town'.
Isn't towny the same as factions?

I have a few things to say about this idea.

2. The idea has potential, but you need people who can pull it off.
3. Don't many servers have this similar idea and they fail pulling off something good?

I haven't really seen this before. I haven't played much towny but it wasn't like this right? More like factions?

You have no knowledge of programming if you think his idea will cost over $1000.

Yes it is and that would be interesting to see.

Hmm I don't really have that much XD. Maybe I can try coding myself or find a similar one.

I think it's very do-able. But here's what I think a cool concept is.

For the whole hiring build teams to build a house, maybe make a building with npc's that you can right click. When you right click them, you bring up a house customization gui. From there, players can customize certain aspects of their house. Then, the npc gives you a quote, you lead them to your place, and then there is a building animation sequence.

This is just a concept, but with this kind of mindset at hand, you could pull off something very good. I say give it a shot as long as you have a creative mindset.

You have no knowledge of programming if you think his idea will cost over $1000.

I have plenty of knowledge. Unless he knows the right people the entire server would be custom. Then you're looking at websites, domains, hosting, graphics. Making this idea would certainly be close to a $1000.

It wouldn't take much to code what you want. If you're new to coding I'd recommend doing these following things.

• Do CodeAcademy.
• Learn Java.
• Watch Pogo's Spigot Tutorials.

Hmm it's a good but difficult idea. But the build team is for a reallife thing(I don't know how to explain XD). You need to pay to let them build it and need to pay for the blocks etc. that's how the build team makes profit etc.
