Is it worth learning JDA for Discord Bots? I currently create my bots with JS but I was thinking of getting stxphen's course for JDA, what's the demand like for JDA compared to JS? I don't see many requesting JDA on here but is there anywhere else people use for commissions? If anyone has any other sites that might be useful and can't be posted here please DM me or message me on Discord, Ty#7904, I'd appreciate it :p

this thread is open to opinions, if you've never worked with any of this stuff before don't bother replying because I'd rather have useful opinions with reasoning behind them

If you know Java you won't have trouble with JDA.
I didn't pursue learning Java much so that's another reason I'm asking for opinions, it'll be more than just learning JDA itself

Before starting to use APIs you should learn the fundamentals first, Java in this case.

I personally prefer developers (as myself) who are really good and competent in one field ( in my case that is js too ) over ones which know everything but only a bit.
Only learn something new if you will use it a lot too, otherwise you will know it for 2 days and then forget everything and won't increase knowledge.

What’s wrong with making bots in JavaScript? The point of libraries is to use the languages you know. That’s like being an expert NodeJS developer and wanting to switch to using Go because it’s easier to handle concurrency instead of getting a NodeJS library that has easier concurrency features.
I don't see a problem, I'm basing it off of demand. If I'm going to get more demand and more commissions using JDA then of course I will learn JDA.
