Hey,

I have been working on this website for around a week now, yes a week. Its my first, full website so I can't get it done in minutes. I am here today to ask for some feedback on the website.

Please note that my client wanted all the text on each page and the theme (Background, colors etc).

This website was designed for KirbyDogs and his Manager Furex!

I appreciate all feedback from everyone.

Thanks!

For your first website, this is very nice. It would take me a lot longer to get a site like this. Good job!

For a first site it's a decent start. The color scheme is a tad bit offsetting because of the contrast, but it could work if you were to revert the whole color scheme from your mixed palette to either all darker or all lighter. Or, if you're still unsure on some color scheme combos, consult KirbyDogs and visit ColorCombos. When I can't figure out the best color scheme for a website, I'll send some combos I think they'll like to them and they can give me some feedback.

Some things you should adjust other then the color palette:
  • Your Bootstrap navbar has an invalid class. 'navbar-fixed-static' should be removed. You've most likely gotten this confused with either 'navbar-fixed-top' or 'navbar-static-top'. However, do one or the other, because your navbar, if you look carefully in the corners, doesn't fully reach the edges. Using 'navbar-fixed-top' with keep the navbar at the top of the page even if you scroll, and 'navbar-static-top' will keep the navbar at the top of the page, and it will stay there when you scroll.
  • You should adjust the widths of the 'Welcome', 'About', and 'Features', snippets. Having them stretch all of the way really defeats the purpose of a different color background, and causes the 'offsetting' color palette to really pop.
  • You should adjust the fonts. The unity of the whole site is all over the place. Having a main and secondary font is perfect, but more then that are simply unneeded. I would recommend removing everything that has 'Arial' in it. It seems as if you try to implement the 'Merriweather' font into the footer, but it doesn't load. If you don't know how to properly implement a font, I'd recommend just using the ones off of Google Fonts, there's some good alternatives on there and it's drop dead simple. Another thing you should do is change some of the font colors. The aqua colored navbar <li>'s don't feel right, especially due to an exceptional amount of a darker shade of blue implemented in the site. Maybe change the color?
  • Finally, this is just an opinion, but you shouldn't have everything centered. Maybe put some on the left or the right, or get creative. You can ignore this, because as stated, this is an opinion, but it's not necessary.
That's about all I could see in around 10 minutes of looking over the site. I've designed sites and their UI's for around 10 years, so if you're ever having trouble with a client or a decision, don't be afraid to shoot me a PM. I'd be glad to help. It's good to see some new web developers aspiring to master their craft.

Best of luck to you,
T.

Thanks for taking you time to write all that out! I appreciate the feedback.

The color scheme and aqua tab was requested by my client. I also fixed the navbar and the fonts.

Thanks!
