I'm pretty surprised that the majority of people (in the poll anyway, not the thread) actually share my feelings, being that this is THE best cape to date. Some of them, like the Mojira Moderator cape, come close, but this one comes out on top in my books.
And I think I may understand why people like and dislike the ones they do. I think it all comes down to simplicity. I noticed that the 2011 cape, which people generally like, has a simple yet likeable color scheme (black/red). It's design is also really simple and doesn't seem to distract too much from the color. The same can be said for the 2012 cape. The 2013 cape started to lose it just a bit seeing as how its design (the piston) wasn't as simple, and seemed to distract more from the color of the cape itself. The 2015 screwed up massively, because it literally put a brown rectangle (the golem's head) in the middle of the cape, which is itself a rectangle. This really distracted from the cape itself, and ended up looking not like a seamless design, but more like a picture pasted onto the cape. A lot of people feel that the Mapemaker cape did the same thing, by literally putting a picture onto the cape.
The 2016 cape goes back to the roots with the simplistic design. The yes are implemented seamlessly and do not distract from the cape AT ALL. Instead, they blend in such a way that the cape creates a picture in its entirety (of an enderman) instead of having a picture pasting onto it's center. Plus, people tend to love a black/purple color scheme. I know I do.
Anyway, that's why I think this is the best cape, period. They really need to make more like these. Lemme know what y'all think.
