Hello everyone,

I was thinking of making a forums for my server, and it seems like Xenforo is a really good option- just want to know what others think of it.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

It’s fine, just ridiculously overpriced in my personal opinion.

Agree with this one. It is overpriced. But there is a lot you can do with it and is well supported with a lot of add-ons you can use. But the end cost will soon mount.

I don't really see the worth of having a website for a server nowadays, especially since almost everything can be put into Discord and save you a lot of money and time. Obviously, it makes sense if you have hundreds or thousands of players, like Hypixel, or you have a purpose for a forum (to host a wiki or something), like an MMORPG server, but that's just my opinion.

It is very expensive, I agree. NamelessMC is a fairly good alternative for MC server websites.

If you think that's expensive... wait till you see the pricing for other solutions like Invision Community...

It's a very reasonable price imo, especially when their target audience is businesses and hobbyists with genuine incomes.

If you want free ones, NamelessMC and Flarum are good alternatives. They're only free because they're open-source, which is a good thing but lacks the enterprise support to grow and improve from $$$. But still very good as free starters.

Currently, Own a copy of Xenforo I highly suggest it if you are:
  1. On a budget
  2. want a nice premium forum software that isn't expensive like IPB
  3. is Highly rated so on Trusted Pilot (best Review website right now) with 4.3 Rating
  4. has many ways to customize it.
I very much suggest it better than the rival forum software such as Invison Power Board and VBullitian.

Discord does everything that XenForto does for free and is a hell of a lot easier to set up. Unlike XenForo, Discord is something that people use and check daily, and not some account they will never touch again. On most server forums, the only activity is often seen in the Staff Application section.

TL;DR - Don't bother with XenForo, nobody will use it.

This is depressing.

More to the point, this might be the case for new servers, but not all past and present existing ones. Keep that in mind. (And trying to deny this would be flat out wrong.)

I don't know if Mick played Minecraft servers a couple of years ago, but almost all of Voldex's for example used, until recently, XenForo. There is nothing to disagree with here.

XenForo is good. Invision Community is more pricey, and their support for NGINX is nonexistent. It's all community support. I've used both XenForo and Invision, for Minecraft servers Xenforo is fine. I personally like Invision a bit better, but the price tag and their support for NGINX is disappointing, to say the least.
