TO CLARIFY IT WOULD BE A VIDEO COURSE

Been seeing a lot of quite horrible startup servers going around recently, was thinking about creating a complete server tutorial, going over literally everything you need to know to make a good server from the very beginning. Custom Discord bot, required notepad++ shortcuts/features, contacts with artists, developers and all of the sorts. Been in the industry for 4+ years and have made countless servers, I could easily make a decent tutorial but had a couple questions.

Note: This would all be coming from someone with 4+ years of experience, and experience with 300+ player networks that have ran flawless.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT WOULD BE INCLUDED
- Very first thing would be an entire price overview, of an estimated amount of how much you'd need to spend for what you want to accomplish.
- Starting a server from the very basics, how to host it at first etc.
- Helping you establish what gamemode you'd want to en-dour.
- Configurating Discord bots & how to host them.
- Tips and tricks for creating aesthetically pleasing messages etc.
- Price/Art comparisons via mc market and who I believe is the best.
- How to properly configure and optimize spigot.ymls etc.
- Dissecting timings/sparks (Finding sources of lag).
- Locating and removing memory leaks.
- Finding what dedi you should use for what server and who to order it from.
- Trello tips and tricks (Organizing development).
- A quality advertisement plan (What Discord's/Youtubers/serverlists etc).
- Setting up a Server Discord/Staff Discord/Development Discord (Can copy my setups via Xenon)
- Contacts of what developers I believe you should use for what servers.
- Identifying quality and nonquality plugins on spigot/mcm.
- An active database of what public plugins are known to have issues at that time.
- Setting up direct and quality staff guides.
- Creating an aesthetically pleasing buycraft store.
- Identifying what packages would be most beneficial for profit and player relations.
- Implementing other non-predatory profit methods.
- Creating a quality name.
- Setting up a domain.
- Properly setting up bungeecord to handle 300+ players (with any exploits fixed).
- Creating desirable ranks/crates.
- 100% needed Notepad++ shortcuts/tips.
- Setting up WinSCP/Filezilla.
- Identifying the best server jar for each gamemode.
- How to properly optimize and test your servers performance.
- How to create quality, custom gfx for your server.

I'm also still actively in the server owning industry, so as servers evolve I can easily create further tutorials.

Would you purchase something like this?
How much would you purchase it for if above is true?
What's one thing you'd really want in the series?

Thanks,

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If marketed correctly you could make money off of this, but don’t do it. Your customers will be impressionable kids/young teens looking to start a server, and I think charging money for a compilation of information that can easily be gained by browsing Minecraft related forums is a bit scummy.
Most of the stuff he's offering can be ripped straight off Spigot's wiki, but some owners simply don't know enough about the platform and want it done right the first time. I agree, it's not the greatest business, but if there's a demand then he can fill in. The server owner should've spent more time understanding the platform - how servers work and how to optimise them, rather than trying to patch a bad server together quickly.

If you truly think your course would be the most in depth intuitive course on the market, i'm assuming you haven't looked in to the MineAcademy course by kangarko . This is by far the most in depth guide to becoming a fully independent & self reliable server owner.[DOUBLEPOST=1580290122][/DOUBLEPOST]
Most information and tutorials online are misleading, and out of order. Fully in depth tutorials from knowledgeable people are a great way of learning, you just have to be able to connect with your target audience in a way that makes learning not as bad. The kids creating servers are probably discouraged by lack of information which in the long run leads to failure.
Kangarko's course is more based around actually coding plugins, which isn't at all what I'm going for.[DOUBLEPOST=1580321471][/DOUBLEPOST]

I beg to differ tbh. I highly doubt you can just easily browse spigot and have access to developer per gamemode recommendations, artists per price comparisons and opinions, along with someone who has knowledge within 300+ player servers, and a bunch more. As I said above yes free resources are available, but this would be for those who are looking to create an absolute quality server from scratch (Or via a provided setup made by myself). I get free resources are available but with my experience I could easily show how outdated most of those resources are and how mostly they don't correlate to a well established, functioning server.[DOUBLEPOST=1580321627][/DOUBLEPOST]

Kind of touched on this above, but a lot if it is not related to plugins in general, although some are. Yes spigot's free threads can somewhat help people have working servers, but there is a lot more that goes into owning servers.[DOUBLEPOST=1580322792][/DOUBLEPOST]Updated the thread to further identify what I the course would be on, most of the confusion was mb on how it my original thread was worded.

Well, the example contents you shared above are quite basic, maybe elaborate more on the key things you’ll have on the course? If it truly has in depth information that can’t be found by doing a day or two of scanning the internet then go for it.

Not trying to trash but RaidLabs flopped.....
Never said all of my servers were successes, as I'm going to assume nobody's first servers are great or even mediocre. I still had pride in what I did, innovated the gamemode and learned further from I did wrong, since then it's been nearly 2 years of experience.[DOUBLEPOST=1580340837][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hey I updated the thread containing a little bit more information, thanks.

While I'm still skeptical of how a written-guide like this will actually help people who've (most likely) never owned a server before, I still think that if all the info above is included, it could make a useful guide.

It'd be a video course.
