Optifine cape 5+ layers

So hey, pretty sure around 4/5 years ago there was an update in Optifine where you could customize your cape with banner stuff etc. But like a month later they added a restricted max of 5 layers-cape. I've never changed my cape after that update, and what I remember is that my cape has 17 layers. Is there a way to check if this is true? And if it's true, is it worth $?

*btw I already tried to recreate my cape many times with the max 5 layer capes but it never came close

up to 8 layers is allowed, not 5, but even then i don't see these going for anything

Oh didn't knew it was 8! But thx for the info. Still think its pretty rare tho, haven't seen almost any1 else with still the old optifine layer cape. But yea still not sure if I'm correct tho
