Optifine Cape RANT/DISCUSSION?

I think its stupid that you can transfer the cape with only having the accounts username/password. It's incredibly dumb in my opinion, It's like being able to change your accounts email from just having the username and password.

I'm thinking of contacting Optifine to see if this can be changed. I think the only way to transfer a cape should be through the donation email.

This will prevent stolen capes from being circulated, and prevent cape stealing in a whole. I have had friends who have had their accounts compromised and everything is fine but It's annoying when their cape gets jacked.

Any thoughts on why they shouldn't do this? Or encouragement/experiences.

And also this is not to bash people who are selling Optifine capes, I love the service they are affordable asf.

I don't get the point of complaining about it here though. It's "self explanatory" that you should contact optifine when you have a problem with optifine, not post about it on mcm.

While it is kind of a complaint, it is also meant to be a discussion starter, and asking about your thoughts, if you are going to get salty about what should and what shouldn't be on mcm, go report it, and see how far that gets you.

Not sure if this is already a thing as I havent switched cape accounts in a while. But maybe they can make it so you need the accounts Security Questions in order to switch capes. Because I feel like what you said is unfair, I got my cape from a friend therefor I don't have the info...
