Optimizing Server

Help with basic optimizations for server and telling me what i should change and not.
I know about the optimization guide from spigot but i want with someone together to do it, like tell me what is the "best" since i have survival server lowering some settings really ruins the experience. Someone that already understands every feature from the configs (bukkit,spigot,paper) to tell me what i should only change that wont really ruin the experience but help the lag
