Hello BuiltByBit team,
As you know, BuiltByBit shows a special warning on reviews given by users who got their license for free. Even if they didn't get it for free, BuiltByBit considers I assume if there's a Tebex transaction related to it or not to judge this warning. Although there are false positives, this is already very useful because it prevents users from creating alt accounts or giving licenses to others for free for the purpose of leaving a good review.
The idea is that the same warning type with a different description can be used for reviews which are outdated. The word "outdated" by itself is a very vague definition, so let's consider 2 factors, (1) the amount of updates, (2) the amount of time passed since the review was posted. For example, if a resource has been updated at least once since a review was posted and that review is older than 6 months, then a warning about the review being outdated should be added. This change should (1) minimise the amount of review disputes opened, (2) improve the realism in the community's opinion by delivering an important doubt for the reader in these specific cases.
(Lastly, as an optional addition to this idea, outdated reviews could be considered with less weight on the average review score of a resource, either by considering if the review is considered outdated based on the initial algorithm of the idea or by decreasing a review's weight as time moves on, essentially a division based in time.)
abstract logical definition:
x = (current time) - (review time)
y = (resource last update time) > (review time)
z = (hardcoded amount that considers a review potentially outdated)
if "x" is greater than "z" and "y" is true, add outdated review warning.
visualisation of warning currently existing for free license reviews as an example of how the outdated review warning would also look.
