OVH VS Hetzner?

OVH is more common to use. I've never heard of hetzner

For EU use, I would recommend Hetzner, they have decent-ish DDos protection and there server auction is a good place to get some cheap servers. But for better locations OVH is the place for you.

I personally prefer Hetzner's network over OVH's. Although Hetzner offers inferior DDoS mitigation compared to OVH. They both come with their drawbacks, but if you look around you can find much better providers in a similar price range.

We had some machines with them earlier this year and their protection was poor. It's probably OK for websites etc but for gameservers it's a no-go.

I personally use mainly hetzner for my personal infrastructure, absolutely 0 complaints.
If you're looking for budget, http://hetzner.com/sb, otherwise, you'll be good with http://hetzner.com

In my experience, the only significant drawback to hetzner is that they're only EU-based and that some of their older drives might fail (the support replaces those fairly quickly free of charge).

I find that strange, used them for several years and had my fair share of attacks with them, guess everyone gets a different experience though.

Sorry but this is wrong, hetzner does have DDoS protection, actually it's pretty good.

But OVH is the king, you just gotta pay more.
