Hello,

I’m looking to get some owned hardware for a storage server that I’ll host in my office. I don’t have that much knowledge for what backup servers need. I’m guessing high storage capacity, low performance.

If you have any hardware you can sell me or a website that sells it, please let me know.

Thanks.

Have you been looking at a NAS server? For instance, Synology?

How much storage are you looking to get? You can probably get something good on eBay.

What's your use case and budget?

Are you using it for storage (ie. files you need to constantly access), backups, or both? What kinds of speeds do you need?

Around 4-6TB HDD. Do you think I’d be best if I looked for the parts and build it myself or get a machine already built?
What sort of budget do you have for this? I could perhaps help you spec, configure and implement this sort of thing.

Off Topic: You seem to watch a lot of LinusTechTips? :D
if not, then I probably have seen 45 drives sponsoring linus hehe.
was probably going to mention the 45drive AV15, then I just realised he only needs 2-3 drives for 6TB

8TB WD cloud home for £290 if you don't mind just being able to store and receive files (you can access by SAMBA and WD apps).
