Spongeforge 1.12.2-2705-7.1.0-BETA-3361.
We will proceed by hopefully getting contacted by you.
We will talk to all who are interested and decide on a contractor within the next 24 hours.
We heavily prioritize quality above price, meaning that we pay more for good results rather than saving money.
Greetings,
We are looking for someone with experience with mobs and AI, especially on servers.
There are quite many details.
Here is a quick explanation of what we want (Yes, this is actually the short version):
-We want mobs to be a lot more interactive and challenging, they way we want to do this is to give the mobs a "goal". All mobs will be looking for other mobs of the same type to group up with. As a group they will try to locate natural habitats (specific biomes) which suits their mob-type. Example: Zombies will look for caves and swamps, while spiders wants to look for caves and forests. The "looking for process" should go slow, so they might stop up at a few random locations, backtrack where they've been, etc..
-We want to introduce Mob Leaders (or bosses), basically a 4x size of a mob which has a few special abilities. As mobs are looking for each other they will always be looking for other mobs within a small range (ex 16 blocks), but they will look for leader-mobs within a much bigger radius (ex 100 blocks). This should result in leader mobs gathering up smaller mobs of the same type. At some point there will be a large horde of mobs. We want to have a "max cap" of how big a horde could be, and the way we want to do this is by having the leader mob "eat" the smaller mobs within 100 blocks and get stronger by a small percentage. There is no need for any animations, just make the eaten mob disappear and the leader mob stronger when the max-cap is reached.
-When mobs find their natural habitat, we want them to "feel as home", the thing is just that they don't actually have a home... So we want the mobs to build structures until they have a "base". When such a "base" is finished we want an hourly message to be sent to all connected players informing them that a stronghold has been build, and the coordinates of said stronghold. The actual building could be from templates/schematics and should take days to finish for the mobs, no matter how many (real time).
-We're looking for someone who can give us tips along the way of how to optimize our solutions as well as the existing AI of Minecraft for a large server (survival world of 40k X 40k blocks).
