Give non scamming banned members a chance to come back to the community in a way. Here's how it would work:

After one year of being banned they can apply for parole

If denied, too bad so sad for them

If accepted, in 2 weeks from acceptance they would be given suspension status, not banned.

After a certain amount of time deemed by the person who paroled them, they have the option to re-ban them or give them access to the site.

If given access to the site, give them a permanent tag like "formerly banned member"

Support, I don't think its fair to people who work hard and have a few offenses once a year to get permanently banned, you could also reduce the amount of time warning points last to reduce the members who get perm banned.
Depending on their behavior during suspension, staff could pardon warning points.

Noone gets banned on here without a good reason why. If they didn't have a good reason, they can send a support request.
If a member on parole scammed, this system would pretty much fall apart, so no point in throwing in a fancy system into another system that already works.

Pretty sure most bans are technically appealable, assuming it isn't blindingly obvious that you're guilty. Scam reports generally aren't unless you have more evidence.
That said, a parole would need to last forever, since as soon as it was over they might start misbehaving again.

I'm also assuming that this suggestion, like most of its kind, is motivated by personal reasons. Which members are you specifically referring to?

Disagree -
Reputable users who exit scammed could then exit scam again as new members will still probally trust.

If people are banned, there's a good reason for it. Avsterbone was banned because he compromised a users PayPal account, which is not only breaking our rules but also illegal.

People who are banned for valid reason are much more likely to break the rules in the future, and I don't trust any banned members.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
