Partner for a unique server idea

Hello! Today I'm looking for a partner for a unique server idea. (Will tell you what it is if you PM me) You would have to pay for all of the investments BUT you can keep at least 90% of the donations and I'd still be doing most of the work and finding good Youtubers and things like that. If the server does not become successful we will sell the setup and you can keep 80% of the money

I don't know why people are trashing this, it's not that bad. The biggest thing I have keeping me from starting a server isn't that it's hard or that it costs money. I just fucking hate what the minecraft community has become so much that dealing with the marketing aspect is worse than contracting ebola. This guy is offering to do some of that for you for a low price.

The problem I have is that no one cares if the gameplay is good or if the server is fun, they care about little aesthetic bullshit. Does your website look nice, how many youtubers played on your server, and how hard do your donator perks break the eula? That's what determines success and it wasn't always like that. "Oh, shiny!" is about the extent of judgment that goes into a server. A polished turd is better to people than a diamond in the rough. I had multiple people quit a server I started because they didn't like the color of the ranks. What the fuck? How is the color of the ranks important? I wouldn't want to make a server shiny, or a thread shiny, or anything else shiny, or buy a $15 shiny rank to get more attention because I'm just not interested in that type of stuff.

So yeah, I'd do this if it meant I never had to deal with anyone in person especially from this site. The unappealing part of this deal is having to listen to ideas about the gameplay. I'd rather just pay someone outright to moderate the server and keep everyone happy with this bullshit shiny stuff I don't understand than have to partner.

Anyway, that's my take on it. Guy isn't asking for money, and some people do absolutely hate dealing with this community. Its not a bad trade for someone like that.

Face reality here, whether you're making a server or a custom gamemode, all of this will cost a decent amount of money. For any successful server, you need players and for players you need advertisements. Advertisements don't come easy unless you got the money. No reputable user on here wouldn't take this opportunity as this guy has NOTHING to invest it nor does he have a professional thread giving a brief explanation about himself, the requirements, the goals and much more that he should've added! Discussing in skype just consumes time and it's not a professional way to do it.

He's asking someone who he can partner up and pay for everything, he stated that he's not going to pay for anything but give the ideas of this "unique idea" he has. I'm sorry to say, noone here with the common sense would do this. Also, if he's creating this new idea then I'm guessing he'll need a developer and for a developers intake to making something out of the ordinary will cost!

Yeah, I'm fine with stuff costing money. I disagree about the advertising having to cost a lot though. That .org site where you buy time for the top slot is one of the silliest things I've ever seen. Why would you want to play on a server that blew hundreds of dollars on something like that instead of spending the money on improving the actual server's gameplay? At that point you know it is going to be pay to win and they are going to make donating a requirement to get to the top on the server. If people just quit going to that .org site then a lot of this cancerous attitude revolved around marketing would be gone.

You are basically saying with the professional thread thing that if he had bought a nice thread design and a supreme rank he would be more reputable. I've always disagreed with that reasoning. I know I'd probably do better if I spent money on this bullshit stuff that I personally find stupid when I look around, but it all seems so fake. Like its still the same fucker behind the nice thread and the rank they paid for, they aren't any better at their job or anything than someone without that stuff. Its like rappers wearing a bunch of bling, it doesn't really make them badass but everyone seems to think it does anyway. I couldn't do it with a straight face.

As far as vouches, they don't matter, you just get your friends to vouch you. Pretty silly people value it. I could've had a fair amount by now, but I never ask anyone to vouch me after doing business because I don't care.


The de-vouches do matter. Sometimes the bad stuff said about someone is deleted by mods which is unfortunate, but you can learn a lot more about a person by their bad rep than their good rep.


Anyway, I don't want to get in a big argument on this guy's thread. I can't imagine how obnoxious commercials would get in real life if everyone ate up the bullshit marketing people do on minecraft. It's just so over the top compared to anything I've ever seen. I would rather pay someone to deal with people who buy into it than deal with them myself.

Can I pay you to do this for me? I don't have 20minutes to do all these works , just to get 10% of total server donation.
