PayPal getting rid of Student Accounts?

So I and I know a load of the other members of the MCM and other forums have gotten this message:

This well cause a rise in non legit paypal accounts and more. Just wanted to see what the community thought. (If there is already a thread and I didn't see it just remove this one haha)

Yes, it's true.

You may as well begin transferring your money to bitcoin or finding an alternative like PayPal. No idea what they're thinking here, I suppose they're just moving on.

I saw this too and freaked out. I am either switching to; Google Wallet, 2CheckOut, or Stripe.

You would be safer with 2checkout unless you have someone hunting your information down.

Mmmk, I was thinking about Stripe because with that you can also accept bitcoin payments.

They are accounts for people under 18. They are hooked up with your parents account. Pretty much makes it so they cannot be limited.

Pretty much its a normal account linked to your parents so its legal for underage (18) to be using it.

I just had my dad put all his info in and I just run my paypal under his name even tho I'm 14. lol

I have a PayPal account (normal) and have a bank account and card linked. I've had no issues. and I'm 16.

I am calling PayPal right now to see if I can find the reason behind it...

EDIT: They gave a very vague answer saying that was just a decision made by PayPal.... thanks for that reason! :| Better start looking for alternatives.

It's coming out in nearly exactly a month (September 29th), not now which is at least fortunate given the situation.

The new agreement that is taking place. They've given people time so they can use alternative methods to store their money, using competitor sites or using their parent's bank accounts.

Ok, but I'll still be able to use PayPal on my normal account right?
