Had a business account with $100+ on it, got limited. Submitted passport ID patiently waiting for response and boom account got fully locked for no apparent reason. Contacting support is absolutely done nothing. It sucks because people still use PayPal, BTC is the better option.

Had many complications before with an old PayPal account I had, my new one is completely fine though. Definitely understand where you're coming from, PayPal can be a big pain in the ass...

PayPal is doing this to a lot of people. I had that too in the past but what options do you have? When they promise they are secure and safe, the users will use them no matter what.

It is shit but it's your fault that you opened a business account without verifying at once.

feels weird seeing so many people having issues and I've had a business account for years and never have been locked once.

What am I doing that's different to you all?

Same here, multiple accounts too. What we're not doing wrong is that we don't create business accounts when we're underaged and we can't verify them.

Apparently I needed to verify it again or something because I already submitted a passport and paypal accepted that

i've stopped using paypal for years now because of how dogshit their website/customer service is. i'm honestly more surprised people still use it and haven't migrated to a different place like cashapp or whatever.

edit: i got my main paypal limited, sent in proper documents to verify that i am an adult, still waiting for a response and that was like 6 months ago? lmao

What can you use to withdraw the money?

PayPal sucks, but let me say a few things.

1. You should be over 18 if you expect to create a PayPal account and keep it open. You should expect to verify your SSN, ID, and Passport.

2. You should have a business account to do business and a personal account for personal payments. If you do business through PayPal, be prepared to have receipts to produce to explain your activity. If you do business in small amounts you may be able to avoid this, but you should always have receipts and be able to explain your actions.

3. IP, Phone Number, and any SSN/Passport/ID you may have used are all connected. If you create one PayPal account and it gets limited or suspended for some reason, you cannot expect to open another and have it remain open.

4. If you can't do these things, you either shouldn't operate on PayPal or operate with caution and do it in small amounts.

5. Most of the time PayPal is your only option other than credit/debit. And it should remain that way. You cannot dispute BTC. A BTC transaction is final. If you get scammed on PayPal you can attempt to do something about it. If you get scammed with BTC you're shit out of luck. This is the case with almost every cryptocurrency.

6. Once you get the message that you can't do business on PayPal anymore and you get told to wait 6 months for your money, that's final. Nothing you do can change that.

Now that I'm done giving PayPal the benefit of the doubt about some things, let's talk about the bad.

1. PayPal has terrible support when it comes to limitations. However, in most other situations, they have exceptional support (at least in my case). The message center is your friend when it comes to any other issues other than limitations, including Disputes, Transactions, Errors, etc. The last time I had to talk to someone about a limitation I had to call them (the message center hadn't existed yet) and they laughed at me for even calling them.

2. In some cases, you may not even get the opportunity in 6 months to get your money back. I waited for 6 months only to receive an email telling me that I couldn't withdraw my money. This account is the same account I mentioned above. However, this account, when viewed from any normal person other than myself would appear to have some suspicious activity going on.

3. PayPal will not take your word without proof, even if your word is probable. If you make a large transaction (Mine was $800 and it was through eBay) and you don't have the PayPal Trusted Seller or whatever they call it (so that your money doesn't go on hold if you receive a payment through G&S) chances are PayPal will permanently suspend your account due to risk. What risk? Not to the buyer, not to you, but because they fear that the buyer could chargeback, you wouldn't pay, and PayPal would be $800 in the hole. PayPal does this because they know they're terrible at debt collecting. If you explain your situation to a PayPal agent, they won't believe you. If you get permanently suspended, like in my case, even providing proof won't help your situation.

//

these are my opinions (some are facts that PayPal has said themselves) and my personal experiences, feel free to disagree with me.

As a frequent buyer, this ^
Sellers can praise cryptocurrency to the heavens, but I still wont spend more then $100+ on anyone that for some reason can't work within paypals or other sites like PP's rules. I want a fighting chance if something goes wrong, and crypto doesnt give it to me.

Chargebacks are great for buyers if something goes wrong, sure.

But for sellers, you'll have pathetic people charging back whatever amount they can, I've personally had people charge back £3.99 payments
