Hey guys,
So I'm just wondering where is the best forum for PC builders? I've posted on a few different ones but I have yet to get any responses.

So I am looking at building another PC and I have just been reading about the performance on intel's X- series processors, so I decided to put them in my build. Here is my part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Kzr7jc

My only questions are:

What speed DDR4 Ram should I get and which one (keep in mind, I'm trying to stay around $2700)?

Will my power supply be enough to support this build?

I know that the path for future processors will be with the X299 motherboards and I think that going for that motherboard now is the way to go so that upgrading to a more powerful CPU will not be a problem.

So do I just stick with the 7700K, or is going down the X-series a good route?

Let me know what you guys think, I'm really interested on this topic.

Thanks

EDIT: So I was just reading, the 7740X has higher clock speeds than the 7800X, but less cores. The 7800X also takes advantage of all 8 Ram slots, but I would not be using all 8 anyways. Do I go for the more cores or just stick to the higher clock speed? Also, the power consumption of the 7800X is 140W and the 7740X is 112W. Still not sure about the motherboard though.

The RAM you have selected which is 3000MHz is a good speed, I'd recommend just leaving it at that if you're still in budget. If you are paying like $50 more though for a difference of maybe 600MHz, I'd just go with the slower stuff, it won't make much of a difference in real world situations anyway.

Easily, that is gold rated and possibly can even output over 760W if needed. Your system will never pull that much though and you'll even have room to SLI in the future.

You could but a lot of those processors would still be very expensive even a few years from now. I'd personally go with the cheaper Kaby Lake option and then just upgrade your mobo and CPU instead of keeping X299 and just upgrading the processor. Sure, if you need more cores, go with X299, but I doubt you will as most of us don't despite thinking so.

7700K and Z270 - 7700K is a great performer and I don't think you'll need any more but you would have to tell us exactly what you plan to do with the build for me to give more advice on what to get.

EDIT: 7700K is inferior to the 7740X and you can get cheaper motherboards with all of its functions working. 4C/8T should be enough for many.

I plan on gaming and doing some coding. Thinking about streaming too on a 1440p 27 inch 144hz asus monitor.
