Description:
Performance Tweaking is a way for server owners to improve the quality of their services without having to spend money on more expensive and often unnecessary hosting plans.
As a server owner and system administrator for multiple networks, from small to large, I've found that many servers have issues with their servers' performance: some may have problems because of a badly coded plugin, some may have issues with their economy that lead to players using performance intensive features (like Spawners, Very huge mob farms, etc).
All of these issues can lead to players having a bad experience on your server due to lag.

What is my approach?:
In my opinion, the best way to tackle performance issues is to find their source. My approach is to improve their functionality or even suggest alternatives that will improve performance without making the gameplay experience worse.
For example, to tackle an issue with the economy making spawners very profitable which in turn leads to spawners lagging the server, I could go with the following ways of fixing the lag, each with its pros and cons:
  1. Nerf spawners to spawn mobs much slower and only if a player is really close.
  2. Give spawners a chance to disintegrate when a mob spawns from them and in turn lowering the count of active spawners.
  3. Find a way to make tensions between players lower.

Pros:
  • Fast and effective.
  • Due to being done forcefully, this way of fixing lag will not depend on players.

Cons:
  • Will highly annoy players that have worked to get those spawners.
  • May cause players which didn't use spawners excessively to lose their spawners.
Buff another, more performance efficient way for players to get money.
(Even more, nerfing the amount Spawners produce have even a higher impact because it will make players understand spawners may not be the best way to get money now and will consider new solutions)
Provide an easy way for players to make the switch: Converters, Suggested Farm Designs, etc.
Once players made the switch, slowly remove spawners or make them more expensive.

Pros:
  • Very player friendly. Will hardly annoy any players and some may even be happy that you gave them another way to get rich.
  • Doesn't affect players not using spawners excessively or just playing casually.

Cons:
  • Very slow way to tackle performance issues. The issue may get worse before players start doing the switch and get your server unplayable.
I usually have a mixed approach, depending on the client's needs, the scale of their performance issues, etc.

Previous Work:
I've worked with many enterprise networks with a large player base and have learned how to properly scale with size.
  • Mc.Gamster.Org (Upwards of 2000 players)
  • Daily-Life.dk (Upwards of 500 players)
  • Neocrafters.es (Upwards of 300 players)
  • Play.Addicted2.Ro (Upwards of 200 players)
Along with my work on servers, I've also worked on several popular resources that are sold publicly.
  • LagAssist (Anti-Lag Solution)
  • Advanced Spigot & Bungee Tweaks (Premade Optimized Paper & Spigot configurations)
  • EpicRewards (Reward gadgets for active players)

Time-Frame:
I usually finish my work in 1-2 days, but depending on the approach used, it may take a longer time for the performance improvements to show.
For example, (using the spawner situation explained above), if I use the friendly approach, it may be necessary for me to do more changes to help the market switch from the laggy way of getting money to the more performance friendly one.

Pricing:
To provide a good and fair experience to purchasers, this pricing table shows what each service costs and what it includes. I only accept PayPal as a payment method.
  • Per-Server Price = 50 EUR
(Includes Lag Analysis, Benchmarking, Server Configuration Optimization, Plugin Configuration Optimization, Startup Argument Improvements and finding a customized way of dealing with lag sources)
  • Per-Network Price (3+ Servers) = 40 - 100 EUR per server
(Includes everything the per-server price includes, but also load balancing, a priority-based startup script installation. Depending on your networks' needs, we may discuss additional services).

Contact Me:
You can contact me using the following contact details. I should be able to answer in 1 to 7 hours depending on my work schedule.
