I honestly don't know. Legit.
Then again, my servers are 1.8.8 with ViaVersion, so I honestly don't know.
Using 1.8 (like 4 years old) & PEX is a bad idea. So many known exploits and LuckPerms is much more feature-packed & constantly updated.
List some known exploits if you don't mind. I honestly have no clue.

LuckPerms is literally flawless; the only issue I have with it is the Bungeecord version being a bit iffy.
PermissionsEx has countless problems to it: Bad MySQL Integration, Network Crashing Bugs (Such as /pex promote a a) and lots more. The Pex Author himself said that it is developed badly and to use LuckPerms

I switched over Minesharp (except prison) over a long weekend with our Systems Administrator writing us a few MySQL Scripts to make custom import commands for donator ranks and permissions as we planned to remake the entire system. We originally released with just Skyblock and later expanded into Factions easier due to fewer permissions and donator ranks which had to be converted. The main issue is changing everything else (Crates, Buycraft etc) which is more a pain in the ass which is easier to do when you reset your server.
Super easy, LuckPerms has a built-in PEX to LP converter.
I really don't care if you like using outdated & non-updated plugins, that's your taste.
Well, not my fault that the previous owner used PEX.
The server was originally created before LuckPerms was even a thing. I'm simply stating it's not that difficult to convert. I'd never go back to pex unless I was forced to for some stupid reason
