Ping problems

I am setting up a server... I just wanted to know why the ping is so high

I am located in Minnesota, United States the server is Dallas, Texas the ping is 58ms but when I connect to hypixel it is 24ms

Is there anyway to fix this?

58ms ping isn't that bad, the host could be overselling which results in slower connections.

58ms is not bad at all, I get around 60ms from LA, California to Houston, Texas.

Maybe the network on that server is slow, are you renting a shared server or dedicated server?

Try running a traceroute from your home network.
Open cmd and type the following (replace <ip> with your server IP):

tracert <ip>

Paste the results back here.

Traceroute looks fine.
Just out of interest, what Minecraft server software were you running, and did you have any plugins?

I just used default Spigot with my own installation of Multicraft.
