Pinned comments

Hey all. I find that in many threads about people selling their product they always leave announcements saying for example. c/o or new bin. It depends. Well I think the OP of the thread should be able to pin one comment at a time. (they may change the pinned comment) so that it appears under the original post. This way it makes sure that new vital information is shown and seen.

Only one comment can be pinned per thread though, and the pinned comment can be swapped.

Opinions?

By replying to him notifying him of his post farm, you aren't adding anything helpful to the thread, you are post farming

Anyway, on to the more serious stuff, this seems like a good idea. Perhaps it might be an idea to have 2 total pinned comments as an option, but that's only if someone were to want an 'update' comment and a 'recent creation'. Definitely no more than 2.

I've suggested something like this before and everyone said it was a bad idea and disagreed. I wonder why all the sudden people agree with someone almost the same?

Anyways I agree. But for the love of fuck, please don't make it like profile pins, and make it so you have to unpin the currently pinned message so you can pin another message. Just have the pin button ALWAYS appear and when you click it and there's already a pinned message, have a popup saying "Are you sure you want to replace the currently pinned message" or something like that.

Take a shot every time I say pin or pinned.

Would be useful only in threads where the original post can't be edited, as you said, as a way to show the any updates to the item being sold. This would also be a good way to work around the disagreements against the BIN/info on accounts being editable.

Definitely agree on this one but only for accounts I think as it's not really necessary elsewhere.

I don't think this is necessary elsewhere as I said so why would you want this? It would also look so spammy... Why not just edit the first pinned post.
