When creating Skyvele I wanted to offer the community something that I myself would actually enjoy playing and being part of, more specifically I wanted to give a new refreshing breath to how Skyblock is being played and how it is being perceived as. Skyvele is inspired by Skyblock but completely changes its gameplay. More specifically, when creating your island you start off in a big "starter island" which is unbreakable, and you can start building after the bridges that can found at the edges of that starter island (aka after an x block radius). The "starter island" might sound boring, but wait, in your starter island you can find many other unlockable areas, NPCs, hidden secrets, chests, and much more stuff.
What are unlockable areas? Every player's island has multiple unlockable areas that can be unlocked with in-game balance, some of those areas can also be upgraded to provide even more features to the user. The unlockable areas are tied deeply into Skyvele's bigger picture and the way it is meant to be played. For example, you'll only be able to spend your shards (another currency), once you have unlocked a special area in which the "Shards Dealer" can be found. Another example being that you can only receive crates aka loot boxes via mining expeditions (explained later on), which are available after you unlock another area! This unique unlockables system provides a real sense of progression to the end-user.
How do crates aka loot boxes work? Skyvele introduces a unique system that enables users to spend in-game money to send out "mining expeditions" through the mining center (unlockable area). There are five tiers of expeditions, each one requiring more money and time to be completed. Each expedition has an x chance of failure. If it does fail the user will not receive a crate after the expedition has returned. Loot boxes award the user with various rewards, you also require to reach x successful mining expeditions to unlock the next tier, as you might've guessed by now the experience is grind-y but not exhausting at the same time due to features being carefully balanced. The mining expedition also offers a premium tier expedition, which gives the best possible rewards. This expedition can be started by consuming a special coin which can be rarely found in other crates, obtained through voting and through the online web store.
Other details? I will not explain nor show everything Skyvele offers in this thread, for obvious reasons and mainly because I believe that it'd be better experienced and self-explained if you actually experience this yourself. Anyway, there are small details here and there that makes Skyvele even more special, such as a unique way to obtain the custom shards currency such as harvesting mushrooms and cobwebs (which respawn on your starter island after x time). You'll see more features in the screenshots below!
