Now, not to say mcm itself is the reason for these scams, but its ridiculous it still happens, how should I feel secure now that the site may shut up and people will not just exist scam? And scamr resolvers takes months to reply, aka giving scammers free will to scam until banned. please do fix somehow idk I'm not a dev. GL

well no but it would show engagement into the forum and that depending on the posts can be dedicated. Its very easy to do but atleast would prevent spam and those hypixel coin kiddos
I honestly don’t think it would prevent anything. If people intend to scam they’ll shit post their way to meet the requirement and then immediately scam. At least with Minecraft accounts you had to purchase a rank which meant you financially had to invest into this site to be allowed to operate.

The truth is that there will always be scammers, it’s just up to the staff to ensure that they’re punished accordingly.

guess so, but they could look into scam reports more often... sometimes someone has an open scam report for months before it bein replied to. They're pretty much free to scam while waiting

That I agree with! You should focus more on creating a new scam report system that fixes the flaws of the current system in place. The leniency given to potentially scammers is ridiculous is many reports and drags them out for months.

honestly I've had chats with staff in the chatbox before... we're not getting a new system any time soon and this one will remain broken

I'd say you are required to register in order to be allowed to view any posts except for announcements etc. (The parts where you cannot find 'trade' offers) and once someone is banned, just block them from accessing the whole site (IP blacklist). This would prevent a fair amount of scams I'd say, however if scam reports take ages then it would kinda be useless..
ip black list works and also doesn't. they do have an vpn blocker if you're not on supreme rank. but what about just resetting your ip, or going to a coffee shop, that bypasses it right? There's a method to 100% bypass mcm's blackliists which I won't get into but trust me, there's not really a way to make it impossible but atleast solve scam reports being so slow. How can we guarantee that someone won't scam if scam reports take months to get open..?

Yeah, VPN detectors will never be 100% accurate as it doesn't have insider information, honestly people trust people too fast with their money, irl I would understand but why would you pay $200 to someone without even confirming on-site like jesus
look at mm's profiles on mcm lol, you'll see how many people actually fall for impesonators and don't even confirm on site

I mean realistically they cant. Anywhere there is money there will people attempting to take advantage of others. This goes for the real world as well. Let me provide some very basic advice that really just needs to be drilled into the heads of mcm users....

1. If you have a "gut feeling" on anything in the deal back out or get a middleman. Always trust yourself.
2. Use a god damn middleman if its not someone reputable in what there offering. No legit trader will turn down using one. Shit even if there reputable if its a large amount use a middleman.
3. Stop being lazy, Always confirm on site, always insure you know who you're dealing with. Just because someone says they are someone do not believe it. They are lying till proven otherwise.
4. Stop attempting deals that are too good to be true. If something is too cheap for what it is is dont do it. 9 times out of 10 its a scam.
people cheap out so much on mm's. "Hey he has 2 rep why would i need a mm?" on god I don't even feel bad when people get scammed dealing with 1 week old members. You should take the proper precautions and not fall for these scams.[DOUBLEPOST=1601141921][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly lol, you can't really avoid that. people gonna stay falling for it. but mcm can make a better job on speeding up scam reports...

the scammed is more stupid than the scammer
In most situations I would agree, but there are the rare occurrences where it’s completely out of someone’s control.

exit scams being that type of situation. If someone with the top rep on the forum decides to exit scam they can very easily lol.

We certainly have had problems with scam report response times in the past, but we've since overcome them by expanding our team and simply being more available to handle them. With the team in our current state, I'm very confident in our abilities to keep our queues down to a reasonable level which is the best solution we could offer.

I'll move this to denied, thanks for the suggestion
