Hey guys I am getting desperate.

basically, I cannot access 'root' user so when i install multicraft, it won't let me change the actual config file that has the daemon details because i don't have read/write permissions for the file.

I tried to activate the root user but i don't have permissions for the config on that file either.

I must be doing something wrong, someone please help?

Thanks in advance

With all honesty, don't use multicraft, if not setup properly, may people can use malicious softwares to quote on quote "hack" into your server and destroy everything. Learn to use screen, much more efficient and safe. If you need help, feel free to contact me.

screen -S Vice ./linuxhelper.sh

Uhm, the majority of servers are run off linux.
You rarely ever see a hosting company use windows.

Root is always enabled, by default. Tell your company to enable it if not, or type in: su. If your user has sudo, type in sudo su and the password.

Hey guys thanks for all your help. I seem to of fixed it now. Just for reference if anyone else gets this problem.
It was down to ubuntu not giving root account access by default. You need to go into config file and allow it before you can use root, then set a password for it.

Rip. Gl/w server.
Although I would follow vices suggestion on not using multicraft. Uses extra resources from the server, and does not run it as efficiently.
Yeah your right, Multicraft has been nothing but a problem since i started with it tbh.
I got a 10 server licence, and whilst transferring over to the new dedicated it was running on the old and new, so multicraft decided i was breaking my licence terms and decided to spam ads for multicraft in my chat, took them 2 days to stop.
