PLEASE HELP WITH MOTD!

Basically I have viaversion but the version says Spigot 1.8.8 on the server list/menu.

Is there any way to make it say Spigot 1.8.x/1.9?

I see another server has something like that, how do I do it? Please help!

EDIT: Im not talking about in game, im talking about from the main menu where it says the MOTD, Ping, server name, ect.
Then server version.

But replace the waterfall with Spigot 1.8.x, 1.9

Its been a while since ive done this, but I believe that it is changed in the server.properties file root directory
