Please read - Huge scam

Just got scammed $1200 by someone IRL. It was through an Interac e-Transfer and the bank says there's nothing I can do about it and filing a police report is probably my only option. I am not open to sharing how it happened at this time.

A police report has already been filed.

Not options:
Confronting the guy (he disappeared)

Information I have:
Their interac e-mail
An instagram account I think they jacked ... or may borrowed... (my friend's)
Cell #

If you have any experience or knowledge please help me. If you don't have anything positive to contribute please don't roast me, I feel shitty enough as it is. This is a sensitive topic for me so anything negative will result in a hearty "fuck off" from me.

What I would do-
I would create a fake account on whatever social media that you think know you're able to contact him on or if you have friends that can help use there accounts, so it's not so obvious. After that contact him get his iP and then trace the ip and have the cops take over if they're involved or if you have a friend that he knows have them arrange something to "hangout" and that's when you confront him but make sure the cops are there.[DOUBLEPOST=1482013682][/DOUBLEPOST]If you need help find doing them contact me ill see what I can find but I would be asking you questions which Ik you're not in the mood for

In case you can't read, I have contacted the bank, but not the Police as everything isn't sorted out on that end. I definitely intend to do so.

I posted here because I know there are people who can find information about others using phone numbers and emails, and there have been many kind people who have offered help. If you're here to persist with asking something unecessary and already answered, please leave.

Sorry I hurt your feelings and made a tiny spelling mistake. Things have not cleared with the bank, and they are still resolving an issue on their end. Without that matter being resolved, the police cannot do anything since it hasn't been confirmed as a scam. The guy probably designed his scam in this way to give himself time to get away.

Also, you could have said something constructive in your first post instead of a comment that is often taken as demeaning.

I have already contacted the police but they told me to COME BACK when the issue with the bank has been resolved FIRST, which is Tuesday.
