Not sure if this is the right category to put this in?

Hi there, a little abit about me, I'm Luke 25 years old and from the UK. I am looking into different ways of starting an online business. I haven't been around in the Minecraft community for some time. Basically to cut to the chase. How are servers doing these days? Are they profitable like they once were?
A few years ago I was apart of a big network (wont mention names) and they used to turn over several tens of thousands of pounds a month. Is this still the case?
I'm basically trying to find out if its worth investing money into either creating a new server or purchasing an already established network or has the time passed to create such a online business?

Hi Luke,

In my opinion, creating a profitable Minecraft server in 2023-24 requires research and planning. You must determine the game mode and advertising strategy to use. The most profitable servers are factions, skyblock, and similar games, but they are often pay-to-win. It is essential to ensure that donations, such as ranks and keys, comply with Minecraft's EULA. By doing your research, you can discover legal ways to sell items like fly on factions, which provide a significant advantage over other players.

If you plan to buy an established server, you should do a lot of research. They sell for various reasons, such as losing players, becoming unprofitable, or being unimprovable. However, if you want to give it a try, you could.

I want to clarify that the previous text was my personal opinion, and it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the correct or only view on the matter.
