Contabo sucks. Speeds are slow, reinstalls take hours, contabo is shit
Not to mention the terrible DDoS protection, terminating your service for an attack and overselling
Contabo has an excellent support and they don't over sell. I've visited their facility in Nuremberg and they are a young and dynamic hosting company that constantly grows - saying that they suck is absolutely unfair as they try to do their best.
I still wouldn't recommend your friend on running a hosting infrastructure on a VPS, not even if it's a KVM VPS.
Contabo additionaly has a very insufficient DDoS protection system and as we all know, that is one of the key things when running game servers.

With the overselling kinda depends what node you are on but they do terminate services for DDoS attacks[DOUBLEPOST=1519597845][/DOUBLEPOST]

Never experienced that with the servers I used to have with them, you usually just get nullrouted if their self made ddos protection can't withstand the attack.
Their DDoS protection isn’t as bad as it used to be a year or two back. But its still not great and you don't want your node getting null routed, since that would result in several hours downtime for all the MC servers hosted on it. After that much downtime you'd loose a good chunk of your customers. Game servers are targets by nature. I would consider DDoS protection one of the top 5 most important aspects of an MC host, so picking a provider with weak protection isnt ideal.
