The tile says it all. PM likes are the same as likes you post in a comment. They are both stuff members 'agree' on, and thou count as a positive reaction.
We can limit the amount of rep a user can give to another user. For example:1 problem
Example: ExX & ExY want to get alot of reactions for some weird reason.
ExX & ExY start a conversation
They spam the shit out of it and they like each others messages each time.
At the end of the day ExX & ExY agreed on spamming the conversation with letters
Example2:
Same Example as above, except ExX & ExY only post 10-20 times a day in pm, and "agree" to each other 10-20 times every day.
good idea if you can somehow prevent the above from happening, otherwise not a good idea
We can limit the amount of rep a user can give to another user. For example:
User X can only agree with user Z 2 times a day, etc.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be too hard either. But don't ask me, never used XenForo before.if thats how it would be done, i dont rly see anything wrong with it
What is the point of the 'like' button then? Why not just type in 'agree'?I don't really see what the point of this would be if there's a limit, tbh.
Besides, even if you can only give 2 per day, you can still agree to boost each other with a lot of people together and we would not be able to know unless one of you ratted it out. This is the reason I think it was not implemented in the first place.
Because typing in agree takes more time? just because it does not count for your reactions count does not mean it is pointless. The agree and disagree in suggestions do not count for reactions either, but they are still useful. What is the point of the 'like' button then? Why not just type in 'agree'?
There is already people rate-boosting by typing on people's profile and liking everything to convince the other person to like everything back *cough* Cyprus *cough*
Don't wanna give them the option to do it in private tbh
This. I love using the like button for this aswell.Typically I just 'like' a message to acknowledge I've received it, or just as a nice gesture. If it's implemented it can easily be abused and having to go through the trouble and catching the abusers isn't really worth it xD
